Deciding to downsize doesn't mean you have to move to a small boring space. When a school went up for sale on the other side of the road to Deborah and David their imaginations went wild.

Without planning permission to convert the usage of the school to a dwelling or the renovation ideas they had, the couple went ahead and bought the old school. Deborah has already had experience in the property renovation game, having  extended, renovated and converted around 30 properties in her time.

The Grade IIVictorian front now hides the modern extension attached to the rear. After problems with the new addition being seen from the village the modern extension has been built lower then originally planned to eventually please the planners requirements.

Breeze blocks and Cedar cladding and a zinc roof created the modern addition to double the  the floor space of the house. The existing school building has been divided int  bathrooms, bedrooms with a new entrance added to the side of the school creating a large entrance space.

The build took approximately a year to complete. Thee were a few changes along the way to save the budget inclusing opting for a Ash floor rather then the pricing polished concrete as originally planned.
