Self building is easy, isn't it?

You like the idea of self build, your own design, your own specification, rooms just how you want them, but is self build as easy as it can sound?

The hardest part of self build is finding a plot of suitable land, for sale and that can get the planning permission required. Some can search for years, continually contacting locals, farmers, land owners, estate agents, occupied plots and considering troublesome plots to be able to build in the area chosen.

With the Government wanting to double the amount of self builds to 20,000 by 2020 local councils will have to keep a register of self builders to help them plan for potential land requirements.
